This is our chance. So rarely do we experience the birth of a new industry and it’s even more rare that we find ourselves involved in its inception. With this position, whether or not we immediately realize it, comes great responsibility. As a pioneer it is not only our responsibility to represent ourself and our image within the industry, but to define it as a whole. We have the chance to build this industry together, from the ground up, on the basis of integrity, equality, and sustainability.

The cannabis industry that has so much to offer. There’s so much “low hanging fruit” as I once heard it put. That is, there are so many possibilities and novel enterprises to be undertaken that almost anyone can be a part of it. Become an entrepreneur, run your business with integrity, comply, pay your employees livable wages, care for them, care for yourself, care for your community. Reinvest in infrastructure, improve the sustainability of your land. Manage your land, manage your resources. Dissolve the stigma. Talk about it.

Let’s not uphold and revisit the fraud, deception, and avarice that plagues industries parallel to ours. There is plenty here to go around. This is our chance.
